Feelin' Fly at Boni High

It is one fine Sunday afternoon and good friend Joseph and I are thinking of having a foodtrip adventure at Maginhawa Street in Quezon City, we meet up at Bonifacio High Street. He kinda like what I am wearing so we ended up having another photoshoot. One good thing I like about this friend of mine, he always carry his DLSR camera with him wherever he goes. A photographer really runs in his blood.

And so the photoshoot. I love BGC- and in my stay in Manila I've been a witness of its growth and how it became another Business Central District. I for one, have worked here for more than a year. I am not a master in architecture nor engineering, but I love how they planned the entire area. You can still feel the nature with tress all over the place. It's a manifestation that progress and development can go hand in hand with good environment.

As for the planned foodtrip adventure, let's reschedule it some other weekend my friend.

My Birthday Shoot

3 days before my actual birthday.

I had an amazing time doing this shoot. It was a perfect weather, almost gloomy, to do an outdoor pictorial. And I am happy with the result. This has been one of the many collaborations I did with the photographer, and I feel at my most comfortable state whenever he clicks his camera.

Location: The Fort Strip
Photography: Joseph Nunez

I truly appreciate and value the ways with which my real and true friends have shared their thoughts and ideas-- and guided and misguided me somehow. The last twelve months have been extremely stimulating, rewarding (as I came to know a lot of friends from my work with Congress, to Xtera Outsourcing, to some gigs as well as the Workshop I have attended for a couple of months). I have disabled my wall post because I wanted to receive some private messages or greetings my friends wanted to say. Though some have made it their status for today or shared and tagged me on pictures which I have to accept because-- well, it is such a sweet gesture! and from time to time (real time) I have been posting pictures of what's goin' on today. As this day is very special for me.I have a lot to be thankful for and I can really name a few who have made my last year's meaningful and yes- life changing!

SUMMER BLUES

Finally a fashion post!!!

My friend Joseph told me that the Style section  is the most neglected part of my blog considering that this is his most anticipated post as well. aheemm ( this is the part where it's our joint effort by the way---him being my photog and me; model wannabe hahaha) . As a self-confessed foodie, I am really inclined into doing food blog than anything else.

So here we are in another Summer photoshoot at BGC.

It was almost sunset and we're glad we still have a great sunlight for outside photography. I am very happy with the result of this fun shoot with Joseph.

About this Style:

Uniqlo Poloshirts has been my staples eversince it hit Manila Market. Style is just so basic and classic and there is something about their fabric that is very comfortable to wear.

I paired it with Penshoppe walking shorts and Top-sider shoes.

I hope you like the ensemble.

(added accessories: Sunnies; Calvin Klein Eyewear, Coat: by Zaraman)

What I am wearing: Top; Forever21, Walking Shorts; Penshoppe, Arm Candy by SM Accessories, Watch by Kenneth Cole, Eyewear by Calvin Klien, Footwear by Birkenstock

Summer is almost here and it's the season for an open-toed footwear (though I am not really a big fan). Thanks to Chris of  www.pinoyguyguide.com for giving me these perks, I got my first pair of Birkenstock sandals. Last Sunday I went to their branch in Glorietta Mall Makati, and I must say that their staff were so accommodating they helped me decide what to choose among their product lines. I opted the classic type, I've been told that these pair are the more popular ones, two-strap slip-ins popularly known as the "Arizona" line. They are very comfortable to wear; you know you're getting quality construction and comfort that comforms to your own feet - even if the pricetag seems a little high.

Until then, this Summer; Do what makes you happy and don't care what other's think. Nothing should hold you back!

Enjoy,

DEEP. DARK. DESIRES.

I was inspired by the vintage film look. I like it's gritty and grainy look. It feels so dark and mysterious. -- JR Nunez

BACK TO SCHOOL

It has been years since I was out from college. And I am forever grateful for the learnings I gain from one of the best institutions in the world.

So for this "back to school" photo-ops with Joseph and for Jolly's Men's make-up  portfolio, there shouldn't be any other place to shoot than my home for 5 years--- UP Diliman.

I still imagine going back schooling and further my studies and here's probably what I'd be wearing if I were a school boy again (Mostly local retails to meet the budget, but I will definitely vouch the quality and the comfort).

I could still pass as a college dude, yes? Hahaha

1st look:

What I am wearing: Black Top from F&H, Jeans from Fubu, Cardigan from Memo, Sling Bag from Bally

2nd look:

What I'm wearing: College Button Down Top (Bench), Pants (FUBU), Watch (Kenneth Cole), Bracelet ( iMorellato)

3rd Look:

What I'm Wearing: Plaids that I used to sell for Bazaar

(A blog has been posted about my love affair with plaid last year for some of my most favorite pieces)

Ooops, here's more: BTS from the photoshoot

My Sabbatical Trip

Ready to go where the wind blows.

I began this New Year as a single man, something I have never experienced in the last 5 years. My entire future I have created for us disappeared all at once. As the separation sank in, this dark cloud formed over my heart as i realized I was back at square one.

I know I was raised as a survivor. So as per usual it only took 3 weeks  to move back to our Kamias Apartment and maybe the idea of meeting someone new would really be helpful.

I met this person who lives in the idea that the best life is a simple life and that a simple wisdom is a cure for a complex life.

We've been constantly exchanging ideas and everytime I get the chance to see this person--- there's always a way to simplify things.

I was advised to go on a Sabbatical trip. It was supposed to be on Sagada but then settled for Baguio instead.

So my adventure began last Sunday Morning March 3, 2013 at 2am via Victory Liner. A 6 hour trip to Baguio was spent in Dreamland ( as i was really tired day before that, from doing inventory at the spa to checking some emails for our event).

1st Stop: Our Lady of Atonement Cathedral, Baguio City.
This is more like a "check-in" thing for me whenever I visit a place for a safe and smooth stay.

This whole journey (the post-breakup stage) has been very 'educational' for me.

1. I realized that as you age the level of pain decreases. I remember the experience of my very 1st break up when my relationship only lasted for 6 months. I was so devastated I didn't even know if I would ever move on but I have moved on...

2. I also came to realize that when my friends are experiencing the hurt of heartbreak I would often advice to let go and move on-- BUT it is easier said than done. When this happened to me I have learned to break down the concept of letting go; I looked at the things that I was hanging into and more importantly why? Those comfortable yet unhealthy things that had kept me in a relationship.

3. And travel is a great post break up remedy!

So welcome to the Summer Capital of the Philippines; now the city for wandering soul.

1st Meal in Baguio: Breakfast at Starcafe along Session Road ( Coffee, Pandesal and Pancit)

And like a backpacker, after that meal I was set for an adventure. Next was to find a good place to stay and rest for my 3 day hiatus.

I wanted to stay near the center (Session Road) so was finally checked in at Burnham Hotel. For a single room worth PhP1,200.00 I was able to use my bargaining skill and reduced it to PhP1,000 per night.

Complimentary coffee. Was so grateful for the Staff of Burnham Hotel for being so nice and accommodating . Special Mention to their Receptionist Ms. Jobelle who reminds me so much of KZ Tandingan of the Pinoy X-Factor. hehe

After that needed 2 hour rest, I knew I was ready to conquer this city again.

The adventure was a feast in my mouth and in my eyes as I was treated with great street food, fruits while enjoying the best scenery.

moi at Mines View

This is also such a budget-friendly travel with a little less than PhP 5,000.00--- my 3 day stay in Baguio got all covered!

Dynamite at Tam-Awan Village Resto

Tam-Awan Village, Strawberry Farm, Bell Church, Mines View, The Mansion, Lourdes Grotto, Good Shepherd Convent, Burnham Park, Acoustic Nights At Session Road.

Let me finish this blog by the words of my great "mentor" Mark Twain:  “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

I say, LIFE IS TOO SHORT; just pack your bags and GO

until then....
