Salcedo Saturday Market Revisited

Salcedo Saturday Market offers a great food diversity. When you go around, it has different stuff, very interesting; vendors don't necessarily compete direct with each other: Thai Food, Pinoy cuisines, Indonesian delight, Hamburgers, locally produced ginger beer, on and on no end to the specialties.

This is great for people who want their weekend foodtrippin' more laidback. Let's take a tour.

Strolling through the Salcedo Sunday Market is a popular weekend activity, especially among the expats and Makati residents who live in the surrounding condominiums of Salcedo Village.

My pick for this weekend.

Bibo & Co. at Fish & Co.

Reunited with my Cebu-based friends Khrissy and Ian.

Fish & Co. is actually one of Khrissy's favorite restaurants. Everytime she's in town for a quick visit we would definitely have a 'checked-in' dinner at this resto. I have been here several times and I always enjoy my dining experience, aside from the fact that I am in a company of beautiful people. You can tell from the texture of the food and its taste that it is prepared fresh. The service here can't be ignored because they really have a lot of people to address your concerns. And they give out free mint candy after meal and upon asking for your bill than can only be found here-- if you consider that a plus.

The food at Fish & Co is great but the prices are not really to be desired. But I can guarantee that you are certainly going to get your money's worth with the quality of food they offer.

Sunday's Best: Dad's Megamall

What a tiring week that was. And I guess another buffet treat is all i need to cap it all off and end it on a high note.

Just after my Sunday work-out at Fitness First SM Megamall, I headed off to Dad's. Since this is a buffet restaurant, I made sure I ran more than the usual. I hit abut 10kilometer because I knew I have to eat not a lot of the same kind of food but a variety. I even skipped a meal and just had a powder protien shake to sustain my work-out to make sure that I gain the advantage of saving up for the parade of dishes along with nice beverages to pair with. Prices are reasonable given the quality of food and the number of selections. 695 for a buffet dinner is not that bad afterall.

Taste of Mexico: AGAVE

I just found a great alternative to the usual eats people go for, and it's a really nice way to experience "south of the border" flavors. Presenting:

Road-tripping! It was after lunch and we were looking for a place to chill out other than the usual coffee houses or cafe.

We settled at this Mexican resto in The Fort around 2 in the afternoon, so we pretty much had the entire area to ourselves except for the 2 to 3 group of hmmm Mexican Nationals I suppose that were already inside

It was a choice between Classic Bacardi Mojito or Fresh Fruit Mojitos and we ordered both since their promo is a buy 1 take 1 on Mojitos and Margaritas

Chicken wings and drummettes glazed in our tangy chipotle sauce. Served with cool Hacienda ranch for dipping. Available in Mild and Extra-Spicy. 355

I so love this; Blending the flavors of mojito with strawberry fresh fruit.

The Heat is On!

Here's one for buffet lovers, a place for people with huge appetite, for those who want different kinds of food in one sitting (choices, choices, choices!!) For most foodies at 2,200+++ dinner cost is not an everyday dining choice, so when Sato Family invited me to have dinner with them I immediately said yes!

This Japanese family has been very nice and kind to me eversince I had their eldest son Takeshi as my student. Even if I no longer teach their son, they would always take time to meet me up once they are in Manila to keep in touch.

It was certainly a feast for the eyes. Food was well-executed and tasted as delightful as it was executed.  I walked around first to get a glimpse of everything before deciding which to take. I only took the ones that seemed really appealing and gave up those that we’re already too familiar with. With the best bites,I left satisfied and definitely full.

Service is high-end and the ambiance in Heat is undeniably grand. With its no-nonsense decor and seemingly pedestrian menu, Food is outstandingly executed. Instrumental music fills the air while you enjoy your food

Heat is surely one of my best bites. Looking again at these pictures of different cuisines of food being presented makes me salivate now.

Savoring a Classic Birthday Dinner (Classic Savory)

Special friends are a rare find, and I am glad that this guy right here is one of mine! We've been friends since college and I will never forget how kind hearted this person is especially to my sister Em.

Savory’s fried chicken is such a breath of fresh air when it comes to taste, very different from the regular breaded fried chicken served at the fast food chain restos. Their chicken is marinated in a secret sauce and spices and then fried.

Our chopsuey is served hot. The crunchy veggies topped with lechon macau is delicious. It taste like the first time I ever tasted it

This has got to be my personal favorite; The fish was tender and delicious and the sauce was yummy. It was a delightful twist to the home grown favorite dish.

For long life; Pansit; though I didn't really binge on this classic favorite.

The young chow has a generous serving for two persons. I like its yellow color with its leeks as garnishing. You can feel the crispiness of its blanched carrots, green peas and scrambled egg mixed together

Later that night, another friend and Jeff's travel-buddy Edwin joined us.

You are such a dear friend, a brother we never had, we will always make time on your special day. Another great year ahead my friend.

If you are up for a foodtrip adventure and not feeling picky about the food to eat-- then this is a place to be. Today I decided to binge on local favorites.

Here at Chicboy you get to have a feast for Filipino food. And with a budget of around 300.00, you get to enjoy a full Filipino favorite meal. Service is typical that of a fast food restaurants. And as for the food, I'd say I've had better- but hey don't get me wrong. Price is incredibly cheap. So still a great deal.

Main Course: Sizzling Bangus Belly at 120.00

And for desserts;
