Salcedo Saturday Market Revisited

I have made a blog about the pleasure of this weekend activity ( here's the link:  I Love You Sabado  ).

Salcedo Saturday Market offers a great food diversity. When you go around, it has different stuff, very interesting; vendors don't necessarily compete direct with each other: Thai Food, Pinoy cuisines, Indonesian delight, Hamburgers, locally produced ginger beer, on and on no end to the specialties.

This is great for people who want their weekend foodtrippin' more laidback. Let's take a tour.

Strolling through the Salcedo Sunday Market is a popular weekend activity, especially among the expats and Makati residents who live in the surrounding condominiums of Salcedo Village.

Capping it off with a cup of Coffee and Ube Cake at Starbucks
And a friendly reminder since most of the time it is jampacked, "Do not be afraid to share a table with other market visitors – the more the merrier."

Until then,

My Birthday Shoot

3 days before my actual birthday.

I had an amazing time doing this shoot. It was a perfect weather, almost gloomy, to do an outdoor pictorial. And I am happy with the result. This has been one of the many collaborations I did with the photographer, and I feel at my most comfortable state whenever he clicks his camera.

Location: The Fort Strip
Photography: Joseph Nunez

I truly appreciate and value the ways with which my real and true friends have shared their thoughts and ideas-- and guided and misguided me somehow. The last twelve months have been extremely stimulating, rewarding (as I came to know a lot of friends from my work with Congress, to Xtera Outsourcing, to some gigs as well as the Workshop I have attended for a couple of months). I have disabled my wall post because I wanted to receive some private messages or greetings my friends wanted to say. Though some have made it their status for today or shared and tagged me on pictures which I have to accept because-- well, it is such a sweet gesture! and from time to time (real time) I have been posting pictures of what's goin' on today. As this day is very special for me.I have a lot to be thankful for and I can really name a few who have made my last year's meaningful and yes- life changing!

TEDF, looking back, I wouldn't be the man I am today if I didn't share that adventure with you, may it be a good or lousy acting hahaha-- that was all part of the journey. I know I have so much more to learn. Thank you for the impact you made in my life especially my workshop classmates (you know who you are) and Direk Joey.

Thanks everyone. It was indeed a happy Birthday!!!

A Time to Give Back

No candles to blow nor Parties to throw. But we made more than 100 abandoned Lolos and Lolas smiled today.

My ever patient brother Tj driving us all over the place. From picking up the food to buying bottles of water. It was my sister Em and my Mom with the help of my brother Tj organized this small Give back "party" to share the little things that we have and the blessings that we continue to receive big or small. God always provides.

My other sister Bianca, may not be physically there but she made some donations for the Missionary as well.
They were all ready and waiting for us as we arrived. They immediately rendered a birthday song.

What was heartwarming was when we were welcomed by the Lolas and Lolos with their handmade personalized garland made for us.

It's heartbreaking seeing these bedridden lolos ad lolas. We checked 'em out as they couldn't join the celebration set up outside. it won't be our last visit. i promised that.

Lola waving her hand as we left the Missionary of Charities. We promised to come back real soon.

It was my sister Em's idea. Last month on her birthday she also did some small charity event back home in Samar

with my brother Tj
with my Mom and my sister
and as per my sister Em "It's always a great feeling when u at least make somebody else's happy even just for a while especially the grannies..."
The token given to us by the Sisters of Missionary of Charities. A rosary touched by the Saint--Mother Teresa. Had goosebumps when I received it.

Special thanks to Sister Jocelyn of Mother Teresa's Missionaries Of Charity Home for the Aged for helping us out along with the other volunteers.

As I celebrate my birthday this year, allow me to share this passage from Oprah that I came across today “The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is to celebrate.”

Until then,

The GALA

"Nagsasama ang dalawang tao dahil nagmamahalan sila. Pero minsan, nagsasama sila dahil wala ng iba." But tonight we all gathered together to celebrate one great film- 1st ko si 3rd-- that is!

The Official Released Poster of the Film

I could not believe that this is Real Florido's first full length movie. It was a gigantic move from writing on TV and directing a film but he does it so effectively and so good- it felt like he's been doing it for years.
With GMA Artists Coleen Borgonia and Ken Chan playing the young Cory and young Third who look so good and charming on and off screen.

This is indeed a great day to celebrate

Hope to see more of this fine young lady onscreen. She was very effective in playing as the young Nova Villa
Goofing around at the cocktail party with these two amazing people. Make-up Artist Michael Munoz and Hairstylist Abbet Soriano

One of the nicest people I have become friends with while filming, Daryl who played the young Alejandro
with my E-Workshop Batchmates Myk (who played the Hairstylist in the film) and Che (ever supportive Batchmate)

More pics with Coleen who is such an eye candy.
This is definitely her Movie. "Cory" is a tailor-made character for Ms.Nova Villa, she is so seamless and  very charming. I hope she gets a recognition for her very realistic performance.
This was my second time watching the film and I still get the same feeling over and over again.I found myself crying on one scene, and laughing at the next scene. Punong puno ng puso ang pelikula!

'til then,

Bibo
